Something has arrived in the woods … and it’s hungry.
So very, very hungry….
“Do you want to take a look at my new story?” David Watkins asked me one day. I replied that sure, I’d love to! Little did I know about the demonic eight-legged forces that would lie between the pages… waiting to scuttle out all over my hands. Those multiple beady eyes (they freak me out – why do they have so many? Do they all look in the same direction, or are spiders forever looking in every direction simultaneously? They’re not right… THEY’RE NOT RIGHT, I TELL YOU!).
In short, this story is an arachnophobe’s worst nightmare.

Daniel, Shane, and Eric venture into the woods and discover an enormous spiderweb. I imagined it the size of that one from Gremlins 2 as I was reading. They soon realise that they’re spider bait. Whoa Black Betty, bambalam. (Does anyone even get that joke or am I as old as I feel?). They struggle to make their escape…. annnnnnd I can tell you absolutely nothing else, because this story is short and I won’t spoil it for you. All I’ll tell you is that if you were to look for a soundtrack to read to, Drowning Pool’s ‘Let the Bodies Hit the Floor’ might be an appropriate pairing.
This is a fun, scary, fast-paced story that does not end the way I expected it to. If you’d like to get your own copy (and I highly recommend you do), or check out the author, the links you need are below:
