5 Authors Whose Books Belong in Your Eyes

Dark bleatings, my wonderful tribe! I’m bleating on about some authors today that are worthy of your attention. Feast your eyes on some jazzy book covers and some names that might be new to you. Without further ado!

Judith Sonnet

Why you should read Judith: Because she’s awesome, and writes in multiple sub genres. If you like extreme horror, she’s your gal. Splatterpunk? Sure! Something spooky? Yep, she’s covered that too. She captures the worst of humanity in very horror-worthy but sincere ways, particularly when writing manipulative or abusive characters. Other fans tell me they find her work therapeutic.

Also, and this is nothing to do with her writing really, she’s cool.

Willow Heath

Why you should read Willow: Because she, like me, is a book fiend, and it translates to her writing. Her collection, Managing and Other Lies, is not only full of queer stories of scary intrigue, but is also very British – and if that isn’t terrifying, I don’t know what is!

I found Willow initially because of her bookish YouTube channel, which I have linked for you below, along with the rest of her socials:

Selene Kapsaski

Why you should read Selene: Because she’s an artist. An author, actor, director – you name it, if it’s creative, she’s probably doing it. Books-wise, she’ll give you outlaw bikers, shape-shifters, and witches.

Hailey Piper

Why you should read Hailey: Well, quite frankly, why wouldn’t you? She’s a staple of the horror genre. She’s a versatile, passionate, Bram Stoker Award Winner, and a much beloved voice in the horror community.

Caitlin R. Kiernan

Why you should read Caitlin: Because they’re so good that they’ve been scooping up book awards since the 1990’s. Caitlin is also super smart and has lived a life full of academic intrigue – they’re such an interesting person before you even get to their writing!
