The official new novel set between the events of Alien and Aliens.
As a child, Chris Hooper dreamed of monsters. But in deep space, he found only darkness and isolation. The on planet LV178, he and his fellow miners discovered a storm-scoured, sand-blasted hell – and trimonite, the hardest material known to man.
When a shuttle crashes into the mining ship Marion, the miners learn that there was more than trimonite deep in the caverns. There was evil, hibernating-and waiting for suitable prey.
Hoop and his associates uncover a nest of Xenomorphs and hell takes on a new meaning. Quickly they discover that their only hope lies with the unlikeliest of saviors…Ellen Ripley, the last human survivor of the salvage ship Nostromo.

Dark bleatings, my xenomorphic tribe! I realise that I’m *slightly* late getting to this book, considering it came out in 2014, but better late than never! I was especially excited to get to this not only because I am a HUGE Alien fan, but because I know that Tim Lebbon is also a huge Alien fan. Who better to write a canonical novel set between the best two movies in the whole franchise than a dude who loves those movies?
I don’t actually have that much to say though, because I really don’t want to give many details away. I didn’t know this was considered canon until I picked it up, so the happenings of Ripley between Alien and Aliens was a very welcome surprise for me, and I’d like to keep them a surprise to you too.
What I will tell you is this – you can expect the fantastic, layered characters that Lebbon is so well known for. Additionally (and delightfully), you can also expect the Ripley you already know and love because he captured her beautifully. Something else to love is his story telling (not to mention the story itself, which is full of the xenomorph horror and scifi action we all know and love from the series, plus some classic Lebbon originality thrown in).

Of course I’m recommending this to fans of the franchise and horror fans in general, and this is book one in a trilogy so if you put it down wanting more, like me, then there are two follow ups to grab! If you’d like to get a copy or check out Tim Lebbon, I’ve popped some links below for you:
Bleeeeeeat!
