Dark bleatings, my horror book loving tribe! I am tremendously excited to announce that the Indie Horror Chapter is on its 4th run in Liverpool this year, and the countdown is on! I’m devastated because I can’t attend (I’m away on holiday in April), but I feel it’s only right to make sure you all know about it. Here’s what the organisers want us to know…
UK INDIE HORROR CHAPTER HEADS FOR LIVERPOOL
Readers of horror and dark fiction, get ready – the Chapter 4: Liverpool Horror Book Convention will take place at The Liner, Liverpool on 11 April 2026. This free-to-attend event involves over 40 independent authors from the UK and Europe and offers visitors an unforgettable, full-day experience.
Organised by the Indie Horror Chapter, these events are more than just book fairs. Readers can meet and chat with authors but also enjoy a host of other activities including author readings, a very special guest interview not to miss, event exclusive items and so much more.

Chapter 4: Weston Horror Book Con follows on from three hugely successful events – Chapter 1: Birmingham Book Con held in August 2024, Chapter 2: Canterbury Horror Tales held in March 2025 and Chapter 3: Weston Horror Book Con held in September 2025.
Chapter 4: Liverpool Horror Book Convention continues the commitment to bring accessible, affordable events for readers of horror and dark fiction to locations across the UK. From the West Midlands to the South-East and the South-West. North-West – they have heard your call – and they are coming for you!

As someone who has attended one of these, I have to tell you that if you’re a horror book fan that enjoys mingling with authors, there is no better event. I attend a few different bookish things every year and I love them, but they are more author-centric and geared around creators, whereas this one is most definitely designed for readers and horror fans.
Some of its major selling points, in my humble opinion, are that it’s free to attend, and there are always a mix of indie and more well-established authors participating and selling their fine, scary wares. The reason the event is in a different place each year is to make sure local authors can be there, and it’s awesome.

Aaaaand I’ve saved the best announcement ever this year for last (which won’t be a surprise to you if you already know about this event and have seen their posts, but still, drumroll!)
This year, Ramsey Campbell is attending. THE Ramsey Campbell.
The only living horror writer to appear in The Oxford Companion to English Literature, and with a bibliography spanning 60 years Ramsey has won more awards than any other living author of horror and dark fiction including:
The Grand Master Award of the World Horror Convention
The Lifetime Achievement Award of the Horror Writers Association
The Living Legend Award of the International Horror Guild
The World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award
Three Bram Stoker Awards
And four World Fantasy Awards, eleven British Fantasy Awards and many more.

Now, if you’re a Ramsey Campbell fan and you have books you’d like him to sign, would like to pick up a new one, or would simply love to meet him, this is a perfect opportunity. It might seem intimidating but I can tell you from personal experience that this man is so gracious and wonderful to his fans. I’ve got to know him at events over the last few years and would like to think we’re friends now, but when I first met him I was so starstruck and nervous that I feebly called him ‘Mr Ramsey’. To his face. My embarrassment went deep, but he was so kind to me. I just love him.
Anyway, that’s the news. If you love horror books and plan to attend, have the very best time, and I hope to see you at the next one! For important details (including the author line-up), I have popped a link below for you:
