Dark bleatings, my lovely tribe and fellow undead foe lovers. Word on the street is that there’s actually a zombie novel that slipped under my radar, so here I am, making sure it’s on yours before you miss out!
Vinegar Bend, Mississippi – 1861: The Civil War…a name read in school books to describe the war that took place in America long ago. According to Kirby Lann…a name used for the cover up of the war on zombies that saved the nation and possibly the world.
It’s 1931 when Kirby tells his grandson a tale of how he and two friends, Slim and John survived the war…and how they saved a few thousand lives in the process. In order to do this, they would need the help of the Confederacy and the Union. They might also need assistance from former slaves; that is if they decide to help the nation they were once enslaved to. Is the old man telling a tall tale? Is there any proof of his story? Only time will tell.
Based on his story, no one is safe from the zombies, not even the President.

A note to you from the author….
Dear reader,
This is actually a re-release of the first novel I ever wrote over ten years ago. NZAMBI, I went back years later, read it myself and it was ripe with errors as I was having to teach myself how to write a novel as I went along. So, I wanted to rework the story and improve on it. I wanted to pay homage to, in my mind, the original zombie story Night of the Living Dead by having my zombie outbreak begin from a radioactive meteor shower from Venus.
My first novel, the zombies are flesh eaters and walk. You’ll have to read the follow ups to see when moving faster and possibly eating brains comes into play.
I also wanted to use historical events in this story so I thought the Civil War would take me back far enough in time that it could be the first outbreak and I could use the fact there was not much in the way of getting news coverage or many photos back then. In this story I also wanted to have all walks of life working together to defeat the zombies.
About the cover… Those that are history buffs may notice the gun the man is holding is not a muzzleloader which was common then. The reason for that is it is a picture of my dad from 1969 at a local hunting club when he was in his twenties. I thought the picture looked like it was from long ago and he definitely looked the part.
Not to mention, I thought it would be cool to have my dad on the cover. One thing you may notice is that in all my covers I like CC (cover artist) to hide a family member’s name, sometimes it’s in plain sight and others it’s hard to find.
Anyway, my only hope is that anyone that reads this and any of my other thriller works I’ve written, enjoys them!
Thank you,
Brock Allen
