Hey kids!
Today, Kit Power is launching a campaign in order to crowdfund his upcoming book – My Life in Horror: Volume II (link below).
Kit has been writing this article series over at the glorious GINGERNUTS OF HORROR for years, but alas, it is sadly almost over. We’re coming to the end of the road. The sun’s getting real low. The end is nigh. Excuse me, I have to go.
Kit released My Life in Horror: Volume I in 2020, and it’s a glorious piece of work. You’d think that a collection of articles about Kit’s personal influences might not be super interesting if you’re not familiar with all the work he talks about, but you’d be wrong. It’s not just a running series of praise, it’s a relatable exploration of how horror affects the human psyche, the real-world horror of humanity itself, and how we exist in and reflect it. Plus, it’s lovely to have his non-fiction writing collected in one glossy package.
I can’t wait to get my hands on Volume II and Happy Goat Horror will be pitching in to help bring the project to fruition.
If you’re not familiar with Kit Power, allow me to just say this one quick thing…. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GO FORTH AND DISCOVER HIS MUSINGS IMMEDIATELY, IF NOT SOONER! I mean, I really don’t mean to be dramatic here but if you all don’t try at least one of his books, I’ll be so disappointed that I’ll just wither away from the sadness of knowing you are depriving yourselves of such great stories. My hooves will crumble to dust, my horns will go slack and fall about my head like limp spaghetti, the blood-red glimmer in my eyes will fade and I’ll…. be no more.
